Open Committee Meetings This Week

[We regret the delay in issuing this bulletin, but we did not receive the schedule of committee meetings until now.]

There are four open Committee meetings scheduled for this week, as indicated below.
In addition, two committees will be conducting joint field visits to border posts.  The times and dates of the visits are shown below.
“Open”, in the context of committee meetings, means that the meetings are open to attendance by members of the public, but as observers only.  Members of the public wishing to attend meetings in the New Parliament Building will need to produce their IDs to gain entry to the Building.

Monday 7th April at 10 am
Portfolio Committee on Environment, Climate and Wild Life
Briefing from the Secretary for Environment, Climate and Wild Life on preparations for hosting the SADC Trans-frontier Conservation Areas International Conference and Summit.
Venue:  Committee Room 13, third floor, New Parliament Building.

Monday 7th April at 10 am
Portfolio Committee on Mines and Mining Development
Oral evidence from the Ministry of Mines and Mining Development on:

  1. issues arising from the Ministry’s 2024 fourth quarter Budget Performance Report.
  2. field visits to gold hot spots, gold trade centres and small-scale miners.

Tuesday 8th April at 10 am
Portfolio Committee on Local Government, Public Works and National Housing
Oral evidence from Hwange RDC, National Railways of Zimbabwe, Zimbabwe Power Company and Hwange Colliery regarding a petition on the amalgamation of Hwange urban area.
Venue:  Committee Room 15, third floor, New Parliament Building.

Thursday 10th April at 10 am
Portfolio Committee on Youth, Sport, Arts and Recreation
Oral evidence from the Ministry of Youth, Sport, Arts and Recreation on the Ministry’s 2024 third quarter Budget Performance Report.
