Bulawayo Help Network Fundraiser – August 2024
Webb, Low and Barry sponsored a hole at the Bulawayo Country Club on Saturday, 17th August 2024. This was a charity event to raise money for the Garden Park Retirement Home in Bulawayo. The home has been in existence for over 50 years and is currently needing to refurbish their Community Centre and the project is estimated to cost in the region of $11,000.00.
Garden Park organized this Golfing Day to help raise funds for this project, as well as a raffle with some incredible prizes. Both were well supported by the community.
The SPAR BONSA Cancer Family Fun Walk – September 2019
The 7th annual SPAR BONSA CANCER FAMILY FUN WALK, was held at Busters Sports Club on Saturday, 14th September 2019. Its primary objective was to raise funds for two organisations on an annual basis that help and assist cancer patients in Bulawayo namely: Bulawayo Island Hospice and the Cancer Association. It became the largest fundraising event in Southern Zimbabwe. Over 2500 registered participants took part on the day and more than 2800 people came through the gates on the day. Families walked on the day in honor of their loved ones who were currently living with cancer at the time or who had passed away.
A total of ZWL $50,000.00 was raised on the day, and the proceeds were split evenly between Bulawayo Island Hospice and the Cancer Association. Sadly, the SPAR BONSA CANCER FAMILY FUN / RUN WALK could not take place thereafter due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
